Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and PayYaar ("we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the PayYaar mobile applications, the payyaar.today website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

PayYaar is a smart expense and rewards app for personal and group spending. Core features include personal expense tracking, shared groups with flexible split rules, settlement summaries, offline sync, smart capture (text, voice, receipt scan, and text shared into PayYaar from other apps), Item detection (photograph shopping items for local unit market-price estimates you can add as expenses), SMS expense alerts on Android, smart spending suggestions, AI spending-behaviour insights, PayYaar AI Chat (plans and expense suggestions) for every group template (Personal, Trip, Home, Couple, Roommates, Office, Event, and others we may add), UPI settlement helpers, India bill payments and mobile/DTH/data-card recharges through licensed third-party payment and BBPS partners (where available), a Transactions history in Profile to review those payments and report issues, partner Offers with cashback credited as in-app pcoin, optional in-app pcoin pack purchases, a Coupons marketplace unlocked with pcoin, and a Pro subscription with higher usage limits. PayYaar is a bookkeeping and discovery tool—it is not a bank, wallet, money transmitter, payment system provider, or NBFC, and it does not hold or transfer real money between users except as a technology interface to third-party bill-pay and payment gateways.

You may use the Service only if you can legally enter into a contract where you live and your use is not prohibited by applicable law. If you use the Service for a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Sign-in uses phone-number verification; SMS or similar one-time codes may be required and your carrier may charge fees. On supported devices you may optionally use a system phone-number hint to speed up sign-in.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, including feature limits, pcoin earn/spend rates, pcoin pack availability and amounts, offer catalogs, and coupon listings. We will use reasonable efforts to provide notice for material changes when practicable. We are not liable for changes required by law, security needs, third-party platform constraints, partner inventory, or events beyond our control.

You may not misuse the Service. This includes, without limitation: unlawful conduct; fraudulent or deceptive activity (including fake purchases, self-referral, click fraud, abuse of affiliate cashback or coupons, or abuse of in-app pcoin purchases); attempts to gain unauthorized access; reverse engineering except where prohibited from restriction by law; scraping or automated abuse; malware transmission; impersonation; infringement of rights; and interference with the Service or other users.

You are responsible for messages you send when inviting others (including via WhatsApp or similar apps) and for complying with applicable consent and anti-spam laws.

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service (such as group names, expenses, notes, AI plan details, UPI IDs you store, and display names). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and display that content solely to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit that content and that sharing group expense data with other members is permitted.

Some features are optional and require device permissions or system settings you control:

• Contacts: if you choose to add members from your address book, contact names and phone numbers are read on your device to help you pick numbers. We do not upload your full contact list.

• Camera and photos: used when you scan receipts for smart capture, photograph shopping items for Item detection, or scan a UPI QR code.

• Location: used when you use Item detection so we can estimate local unit market prices near you. You can decline location; estimates may then rely on general market knowledge for your currency region.

• Microphone: used when you record voice for smart capture or AI Plan field fill.

• Notifications: used for settlement reminders, SMS expense suggestions, smart spending suggestions, invites, and other service alerts you enable.

• SMS expense alerts (Android): if enabled, PayYaar uses Android notification access to read bank debit SMS alerts shown in your notification shade. PayYaar does not request SMS inbox permission. You can turn this feature off in Profile at any time.

Smart capture (including text you share into PayYaar from other apps), Item detection, SMS expense alerts, smart spending suggestions, AI spending-behaviour insights, budget suggestions, and PayYaar AI Chat may use automated parsing or AI (including Google Gemini). Outputs are estimates and convenience suggestions only—they may be incomplete or incorrect and are not professional travel, financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. Item detection unit prices are market estimates, not scanned price tags or guaranteed retail prices.

You are responsible for reviewing and confirming every expense, plan, budget, and suggestion before it is saved or shared. AI Plan location lookups may use Google Places data; place names and details can change and are provided by Google, not by PayYaar.

Settlement summaries show who owes whom based on expenses you and your group record. They are a bookkeeping aid only and are not legal proof of debt unless you and the other parties separately agree otherwise.

PayYaar may let you store a UPI ID and open a third-party UPI app via a deep link (for example upi://pay) to help you pay someone. Payments happen entirely in those third-party UPI apps. PayYaar does not process, hold, clear, or guarantee payments. You are responsible for entering the correct VPA, amount, and payee details.

Where available for India users, PayYaar may let you pay utility bills, mobile/DTH/data-card recharges, and similar services through third-party payment gateways and licensed BBPS partners (such as PayU and Razorpay). PayYaar provides the interface to select a biller or operator, enter required account details, fetch or confirm an amount, and initiate payment. The actual payment is processed by those third parties and the relevant biller or operator—not by PayYaar.

You are responsible for verifying biller/operator details, customer account numbers, amounts, and payment status before and after you pay. Minimum recharge amounts, supported categories, biller availability, and convenience fees (if any) are shown in the app and may change. A convenience fee may be added to certain payments and is disclosed before you confirm payment. PayYaar does not guarantee that a biller will accept a payment, that a recharge will be delivered instantly, or that a failed payment will be refunded on a particular timeline—refunds and disputes are handled according to the applicable gateway, partner, and biller rules and applicable law.

Successful bill payments may optionally be recorded as expenses in a group you select. Payment records appear in your Profile Transactions list for your reference.

If you believe a bill payment or recharge in PayYaar failed, was charged incorrectly, or was not fulfilled, you may report an issue from the Transactions screen in Profile. When you submit a report, you must provide a valid email address (which may be prefilled from your account if you already have one on file) and may optionally describe the problem. We use this information to investigate with our payment and BBPS partners and to contact you about the report.

Submitting a report does not guarantee a refund, reversal, or biller correction. False, abusive, or duplicate reports may be ignored and may lead to suspension under our Acceptable use rules. Do not include payment card numbers, CVV, or full bank account credentials in issue descriptions.

The Offers tab may show third-party merchant deals via affiliate partners (such as CueLinks). When you shop through a tracked link, we may earn a commission. A configurable share of confirmed commission may be credited to your account as pcoin—an in-app rewards unit, not cash, not a bank balance, and not withdrawable as money.

You may also earn pcoin from in-app milestones, referrals, or promotions we offer from time to time, at amounts shown in the app. Cashback and promotional pcoin may be pending, accrued, delayed, reduced, or voided if a merchant cancels an order, a partner reverses a transaction, fraud or abuse is suspected, or a promotion ends. Earn rates, attribution windows, and eligible categories can change. You must not generate fraudulent clicks, purchases, or referrals to earn pcoin.

Where available, you may buy pcoin packs as one-time in-app purchases through Google Play (and, if offered later, the Apple App Store). Pack prices and the number of pcoin credited are shown in the app at purchase and may change over time. Purchased pcoin is credited only to the signed-in PayYaar account that completes the purchase and remains an in-app rewards unit—not cash and not withdrawable.

Purchases are processed by the app store; billing, taxes, and refunds (if any) are governed by that store's terms unless applicable law requires otherwise. We may verify and record purchase tokens, order identifiers, and product/option ids to credit your wallet and prevent duplicate or fraudulent redemptions. Purchased pcoin is generally non-refundable once credited, and pcoin already spent on coupons or metered features is not restored except where required by law. If a store refunds a purchase, we may reverse the related pcoin credit (including reducing your balance below the credited amount if you already spent some of it).

Coupon listings may come from partner feeds and affiliate partners. Spending pcoin may unlock a merchant promo code for you to copy and use on the merchant's site or app. PayYaar does not issue, guarantee, or control merchant discounts, stock, prices, or redemption terms. Unlocked codes and pcoin spent to unlock them are generally non-refundable except where required by law. Visiting a merchant from a coupon listing may not earn cashback unless the app clearly states otherwise.

PayYaar may be offered in multiple languages. Translated in-app text, notifications, and other localized content are provided for convenience and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.

If there is any conflict or inconsistency between a translated version and the English version of these Terms, the English version controls to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If you notice a translation that appears incorrect, misleading, unclear, or inconsistent with the feature shown on screen, please report it to support@payyaar.today. Include the language, where you saw it (screen, button, or notification), and the text in question. We will review reports in a reasonable time but do not guarantee immediate correction.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or confusion arising from translation errors. You remain responsible for verifying amounts, splits, and other financial details before saving or acting on them.

Certain features require a paid Pro subscription. Free plans include monthly limits on smart capture, Item detection, SMS expense detections, settlement reminders, AI plans, smart suggestion refreshes, spending-behaviour insights, budget suggestions, and how many unique people you can split with, as shown in the app. After a free-plan limit is reached, some features may allow continued use by spending pcoin at rates shown in the app.

Pro subscriptions and one-time pcoin pack purchases are separate products. Prices, billing cycles, renewal terms, pack amounts, and included features are displayed in-app at purchase. Purchases made through Google Play or the Apple App Store are governed by the store provider's billing terms, and refunds (if any) are handled according to those terms unless required otherwise by applicable law. We may change pricing, quotas, pack amounts, and pcoin costs prospectively with notice where required.

The Service relies on third-party providers such as Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, push messaging, and app security), Google's Gemini AI via Firebase AI Logic, Google Places (location autocomplete for AI Plan), CueLinks and similar affiliate networks (offers and cashback attribution), coupon feed partners, telecom/SMS partners for phone verification, app-store billing platforms, India bill-pay and BBPS partners and payment gateways (such as PayU and Razorpay), and apps you open yourself (such as WhatsApp or UPI apps). Your use of those services may be subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, billers, operators, payment gateways, merchants, or apps we do not control.

The Service, including software, branding, design, and content we provide, is owned by PayYaar or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for limited rights to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are granted to you.

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can request account deletion as described on our delete-account page. We may suspend or terminate your access—and may void or freeze pcoin—if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, abused cashback, coupons, or in-app purchases, created legal or security risk, or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately, unused pcoin (earned or purchased) and unlocked coupon access may be forfeited, and provisions that by nature should survive (for example ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute terms) remain in effect.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation; that automated expense, Item detection price estimates, plan, spending-behaviour, budget, or cashback suggestions will be accurate; that merchants will honor coupons or deals; that purchased or earned pcoin will keep a particular value; that UPI payments initiated outside PayYaar will succeed; or that bill payments, recharges, or BBPS settlements will always succeed, post instantly, or be refundable on your preferred timeline.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, pcoin value (earned or purchased), or business opportunities arising from or related to the Service. Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of: (a) amounts you paid to us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50, unless applicable law does not allow this limitation.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us and our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, your shopping or cashback activity, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, excluding conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in India, unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on payyaar.today and in the app and revise the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice as required by law. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
